How do I use admin commands in ASA?

You unlock admin commands in ARK: Survival Ascended in the in-game console with EnableCheats <AdminPassword> — the password is the ServerAdminPassword value from your server configuration. After that, prefix commands with cheat, e.g. cheat SaveWorld. Here are the 10 commands you actually need as a server admin.

`cheat SaveWorld`	Saves the world immediately — mandatory before restarts and maintenance
`cheat Broadcast <message>`	Message to all players on the server

`cheat BanPlayer <player-id>`	Bans a player permanently
`cheat GiveItemNum <item-id> <quantity> <quality> <blueprint>`	Gives you an item by item ID
`cheat GMBuff`	God-mode package for admins (invulnerability + stat buffs, among others)

`cheat DoExit`	Shuts the server down immediately

Warning

cheat DoExit stops the server without confirmation. Always run cheat SaveWorld first, or progress since the last autosave is gone.

Typical admin workflows

Clean restart: cheat Broadcast Server restart in 5 minutes! → when time’s up, cheat SaveWorld → cheat DoExit. With an auto-start setup (see the install guide), the server comes back up on its own.

Removing troublemakers: start with cheat KickPlayer as a warning shot — anyone who comes back and keeps at it gets cheat BanPlayer.

Why don’t my cheat commands work? Usually EnableCheats <password> is missing in the current session, the admin password is wrong, or the cheat prefix is missing before the command.

Where do I get the player ID for kick and ban? The server shows connected players’ IDs in the in-game console’s player list, among other places. Copy the ID exactly — otherwise the command hits nobody.

Can I run commands without joining the game? Basic administration runs via the server process on your VPS (start/stop/backups). The cheat commands themselves are entered in the in-game console as a logged-in admin.
