What is FiveM for GTA V Enhanced?
FiveM for GTA V Enhanced is the new FiveM client for the Enhanced version of GTA V — it enters Early Access on 21 July 2026 and runs as a separate client alongside FiveM Legacy. For server owners, though, the real news is on the server side: the new “Cfx Server” is stated to need up to 50% less RAM per player and synchronizes at up to 120 Hz instead of the previous 30/40 Hz. All details are in the official Development Update #3 by Cfx.re.
What changes with the Cfx Server?
| Change | Details |
|---|---|
| RAM usage | Up to 50% less RAM per player |
| Sync rate | Up to 120 Hz (Legacy: 30/40 Hz) — noticeably smoother synchronization |
| Player counts | Cfx.re is testing capacities beyond the previous 2048 players |
| Developer mode | New sv_devmode for local development (max. 8 players) |
| Runtimes | Modernized to .NET 10, NodeJS 26 and V8 14.6 |
The updated runtimes are particularly relevant for script developers: anyone writing resources in C# or JavaScript gets significantly more modern runtime environments than under Legacy.
Note: Legacy keeps running
Enhanced does not replace Legacy — both clients exist in parallel. Your existing server keeps running unchanged; moving to the Cfx Server is a deliberate step, not a forced update.
Should I switch right away as a server owner?
Enhanced launches as Early Access — deliberately a testing phase. A pragmatic strategy:
- Existing community servers: stay on Legacy until the Enhanced ecosystem (resources, frameworks, tooling) has stabilized.
- The curious & developers: set up an Enhanced test server in parallel — thanks to
sv_devmodeand lower RAM usage this is cheap, e.g. with a small Pay-Per-Use package. - New projects: watch how quickly the major frameworks support Enhanced, then decide.
The timing of the Enhanced launch doesn’t happen in a vacuum: with GTA 6 (releasing 19 November 2026, initially on consoles) the whole GTA ecosystem is in the spotlight anyway — and FiveM remains the home of custom servers on PC.
