Rent an RTMP Server

No. Our RTMP server is a private relay - we do not forward anything. You push your stream to your server, you pull it via RTMP or as an OBS Media Source, and you decide if and where you send the final composed stream. It is not a multi-restreaming service, it is your own server in your own hands.

With the default config, typically 0.5-1.5 seconds glass-to-glass from the phone camera to OBS Media Source on your PC, if both ends are on fiber and the server sits in Frankfurt. With deeper tuning (shorter GOP, smaller chunk size) under 500 ms is possible.

After boot: SSH to your server, look at the application block in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf, enter your stream key in your app (Larix, OBS, Streamlabs) as rtmp://your-ip/live/your-key, start the push. In OBS on the gaming PC, add a new Media Source with rtmp://your-ip/live/your-key as input. Done.

Yes, nginx-rtmp supports any number of applications and stream keys in parallel. The limit is the CPU / RAM of your plan - 4 GB is enough for a few parallel 1080p60 streams without re-encoding.

For a single 1080p60 IRL stream, the Mini or Starter plan (2 GB RAM, 2 cores) is enough. If you need parallel HLS transmuxing or multiple cameras at the same time, go for Basic or Standard.

Yes, nginx-rtmp has a record block - you define recording path, format (MP4 or FLV), and trigger. We ship an example config, you just point the path at an NVMe partition and reload.

Anything nginx-rtmp will accept - 1080p60 at 8000-12000 kbit/s is no problem, 4K30 at 25 Mbit/s either. The limit is your upload bandwidth at the source, not the server.
