What’s new in Palworld 1.0?
World Tree & Sky Islands
The World Tree has been visible on the horizon since day one, locked behind an energy barrier. With 1.0 that barrier falls: the tree becomes the central endgame region and is closely tied to the conclusion of the main story. On top come the floating Sky Islands above the Palpagos Islands – new areas with vertical exploration.
20+ new Pals – including Dupin
Pocketpair promises more new Pals than in any previous update – over 20 of them. Already teased in the trailer is Dupin, whose jester/joker design sparked plenty of discussion. At least one new Pal can even transform into a weapon in combat.
Wing Pack: fly without a Pal slot
The Wing Pack is a new piece of gear for free flight. Unlike earlier gliders or flight mounts, it doesn’t take up a Pal slot – your team stays free for combat while you explore the Sky Islands and the World Tree region.
Offshore building, bosses & sanctuaries
New in 1.0 is building on water (offshore building) for cleaner bases and better defense. The tower bosses are more dynamic, and the wildlife sanctuaries were fully reworked – each with its own ecosystem.
New areas, threats & reworked progression
Beyond new regions and enemies, 1.0 also reworks existing systems: gameplay and progression from early game to endgame are adjusted. Pocketpair therefore recommends starting a fresh save with 1.0 so the reworked content shines.
Are there Pal evolutions in Palworld 1.0?
No. Pocketpair has repeatedly confirmed that classic Pal evolutions are not currently planned and will not be introduced with version 1.0.
Do my saves carry over to Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Existing saves stay compatible and won’t be deleted. Pocketpair still recommends a fresh start for the best experience, as many areas and systems were reworked. Back up your old save via SFTP beforehand.
Does Palworld continue after 1.0?
Yes. Version 1.0 is explicitly not the end. The first paid DLC “Dawn of the Palpagos” arrives as soon as July 30, 2026. Pocketpair has confirmed further updates and is working on additional projects in the Palworld universe.
What RespawnHost expects from Palworld 1.0
From a hosting perspective, 1.0 is the biggest rush on Palworld servers since the 2024 release. Our take and how we’re prepared:
- Server readiness: Your RespawnHost Palworld server updates to 1.0 automatically on the next restart – no manual steps needed.
- RAM: With the larger 1.0 world (World Tree, Sky Islands) we recommend 16 GB RAM as a baseline, 24–32 GB for bigger guilds. RAM usage grows over playtime.
- CPU: The world simulation is heavily single-thread bound – we run AMD Ryzen with high clock speeds rather than many slow cores.
- Full crossplay: Enabled out of the box (Steam, Xbox, PS5, Mac). Consoles find your server via the in-game community browser – pick a memorable name.
- Our expectation: We expect many returning players and large community servers. If you want a smooth start, secure your server before July 10 to avoid waiting.
For the launch we’re giving 40% off all Palworld fixed plans (launch week). Rent a Palworld server – 1.0-ready, online in under 90 seconds.
Open questions for the community
A lot is still secret. These are the questions we’re debating most – what’s your take?
- How powerful will the World Tree be in the endgame – pure story conclusion or a real progression mechanic?
- Which of the 20+ new Pals will be meta – and what can the “weapon Pal” really do?
- Does the Wing Pack fundamentally change base building and exploration?
- Is a full restart worth it, or is your existing save enough?
- How many players can a community server really run smoothly with the new world?
Share your take with your guild – and test it from July 10 on your own server.
