Valheim: How Much RAM & Which Package Do I Need?

Which plan fits your Valheim server?

Current RespawnHost plans offer 2, 6, 10, 16 or 24 GB RAM. Vanilla Valheim supports up to 10 simultaneous players, including crossplay. More RAM does not raise that game limit.

2 GB	Entry option for a small group on a fresh vanilla world
6 GB	More headroom as your group and world grow
10 GB	More memory for larger builds and long-running worlds
16 or 24 GB	Extra headroom for measured high memory use or compatible PC mods

These are selection guidelines, not guaranteed Valheim 1.0 benchmarks. We have no first-hand 1.0 load tests before its release on 9 September 2026. Watch RAM usage in the panel after launch, especially while saving and exploring.

Does Deep North need more RAM?

A biome name alone cannot tell you its memory requirements. Your world, builds, active players and any mods all matter. If memory runs low, check usage and logs first. A larger plan can help with memory pressure, but will not automatically fix connection issues or low FPS on your own computer.

Crossplay or mods?

From 1.0, Valheim supports crossplay across PC, Xbox, PS5 and Switch 2. We recommend vanilla for mixed PC and console groups. Mods need compatible updates; Iron Gate does not guarantee they will work with 1.0. See our crossplay guide.

Can I switch later?

You can choose a larger plan in the panel when your world needs more memory. Back up the world before major changes. Find current prices and available plans on the Valheim hosting page.
