How much RAM does a Satisfactory server need?

Officially, the Satisfactory dedicated server requires at least 8 GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU. In practice that’s enough for small to medium factories — if you build mega factories, plan for 12–16 GB, because RAM usage grows with your factory, not with your player count.

What drives RAM usage?

Unlike most games, the driver in Satisfactory isn’t the number of players but the world state: every machine, every conveyor belt, every item in your logistics is simulated server-side. So:

Note

The CPU matters too: officially a quad-core is the minimum. The factory simulation benefits heavily from strong single-core performance — more RAM alone won't rescue a weak CPU.
