Vintage Story Server Hosting: Survival Depth Without Compromise
Vintage Story is more than just another block builder: realistic geology, metallurgy, seasons, and a dark Lovecraftian backstory. Update 1.22 (stable since late April 2026) adds fishing, new mechanism systems, and expanded metalworking — and the community is growing faster than ever. With your own server you explore this world together, persistent and around the clock. Our Vintage Story server guide walks you through the setup in detail.
Why choose RespawnHost for Vintage Story server hosting?
A default Vintage Story world measures 1,024,000 × 1,024,000 blocks at 256 blocks of height. Generating new chunks takes serious CPU power, especially when several players explore in different directions. Our servers run on gaming CPUs (AMD Ryzen) with NVMe storage — practically mandatory for Vintage Story since the more recent versions.
For RAM, the official rule of thumb is 1 GB base plus roughly 300 MB per player. 2-4 players on vanilla are fine with 2-4 GB; from 5-10 players or with large mod packs we recommend 4-8 GB. Mods from the official ModDB (mods.vintagestory.at) are simply dropped as .zip files into the Mods folder — active after a restart.
