Windows VPS for ARK: Survival Ascended
Almost nobody is allowed to rent out managed ASA game servers — that licence sits exclusively with a single provider. Self-hosting, on the other hand, is open to everyone. You rent the Windows VPS from us, install the free dedicated server on it and keep full control over map, rates and mods.

Why this is a VPS and not a game server
Studio Wildcard licensed the commercial rental of ASA game servers exclusively. That is why we do not offer a ready-made ARK Ascended plan and never will. What this does not affect: the dedicated server is freely available through SteamCMD, and you are allowed to run it privately on rented hardware. That is what this page is for — modern AMD Ryzen hardware, Windows, full admin rights, and a guide that gets you there in about an hour.
What you get here — and what you don't
A Windows VPS with full admin access where you install and configure everything yourself. You are the operator of your server.
No preinstalled ARK server, no ASA game panel, no one-click setup. Console servers are unavailable through any third-party provider, independently of this.
Running your own ASA server privately and non-commercially is explicitly permitted by the developer. Their terms of use apply — please check them yourself before you start.

Which plan is enough for ASA?
ASA is memory hungry and leans hard on single-core performance. We deliberately don't show plans below 12 GB RAM here — they won't get you far with ASA.

Order the VPS and connect
Pick a plan, choose Windows Server as the image, then connect via Remote Desktop. The VPS itself is ready within minutes.
Download SteamCMD and the dedicated server
Extract SteamCMD, log in anonymously, pull app 2430930. Expect 50 to 60 GB — 20 to 45 minutes depending on your connection.
Open the ports and start
7777 and 7778 UDP for the game, 27015 UDP for the server list, 27020 TCP for RCON. Then the first start, which builds the world.
Configure and add mods
Rates, slots and admin password go into GameUserSettings.ini. ASA mods run through CurseForge, not the Steam Workshop.

Not a ready-made ASA game server managed by us. Commercial rental is licensed exclusively to a single provider, and we respect that. What you can rent from us is the Windows VPS on which you run the freely available dedicated server yourself.
