Can I transfer my singleplayer world to a server?

Yes — the move is officially possible and simple: you copy the world file (hex name, e.g. 3ad85aea) plus its matching _info file from your local save folder into your server’s saveDirectory. Bases, progress and everything stored in the world move along with it.

Where is my Enshrouded save located?

Depending on your setup, the local save lives in one of these places:

LocationPath
Steam (cloud sync)C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<your-Steam-ID>\1203620\remote\
Saved GamesC:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\Enshrouded\

1203620 is Enshrouded’s Steam app ID. Inside the folder you’ll find files with hexadecimal names — e.g. 3ad85aea — each with a partner file suffixed _info (e.g. 3ad85aea_info). Together they form one world.

Tip

Multiple worlds? Sort the folder by modified date and briefly load the right world in singleplayer first — the most recently changed hex file is your world.

Uploading the world to the server — step by step

  1. Stop the server. Never swap save files while the server is running.
  2. Create a backup — in the panel, or by downloading the current contents of the saveDirectory.
  3. Open the file manager in the panel (or connect via SFTP) and navigate to the server’s saveDirectory (default: ./savegame).
  4. Remove the old world files there (after backing up!) so the server unambiguously loads your world.
  5. Upload both files: the hex world file and its _info file.
  6. Start the server and connect in-game — your singleplayer world is now running on the server.

Warning

Without the _info file the world is incomplete. Always copy both files — and keep your local copy as a backup until the server has demonstrably loaded the world cleanly.

Frequently asked questions

Which files do I need to transfer? Exactly two: the world file with the hexadecimal name (e.g. 3ad85aea) and its matching _info file (e.g. 3ad85aea_info). They belong together.

Does the server have to be off while uploading? Yes. With the server running, save files can be overwritten or corrupted — stop first, then upload, then start.

I can’t find my save — why? Check both locations: the Steam userdata folder (…\userdata\<ID>\1203620\remote\, with cloud sync active) and Saved Games\Enshrouded in your user folder.
