When does Enshrouded 1.0 release?

Enshrouded leaves Early Access on October 15, 2026 and launches as version 1.0 on Steam. Your RespawnHost server installs the update automatically on the next restart.

Do I need a password?

No, a server password is optional — without one, your server is open. Via the userGroups in enshrouded_server.json you can additionally create up to 10 roles with their own passwords and permissions, e.g. separate ones for admins and guests.

How many players can play along?

The game supports a maximum of 16 players simultaneously on one server.

How is quest progress saved?

Quests are server-wide. When a player completes a quest, it is often considered completed for the whole group. Character progress (level, skills) is individual.

Can I use my singleplayer character?

Yes, characters and inventory are separate from the world. You can join any server with your character and keep your equipment.

How much RAM do I need?

6 GB is enough for 2-4 players, and we recommend 10 GB for 4-8 players. Full 16-player lobbies with large voxel bases run smoothest on 14-20 GB RAM.

How do I find my server?

There is a server browser in the game. Search for your server name. Sometimes it takes a moment until it is listed. You can also save it as a favorite.

No, Enshrouded is a pure co-op game (PvE). There is no friendly fire.

Simply restart the server. Our system installs the update automatically.

Can I upload the world?

Yes, you can upload your local world (savegame) via SFTP to the server.

Where are the servers located?

We have servers in Germany and in USA (Salt Lake City).

Are there admin commands?

There are no classic chat commands — admin rights work via the userGroups in the server config. There you assign permissions per role, such as kick/ban, access to inventories, or editing bases.

Is the server persistent?

Yes, everything you build and change is permanently saved.

Do resources respawn?

Yes, trees and ores respawn after a certain time if they are not within a base zone.

How big is the world?

The world is entirely hand-built (no random gen), highly vertical, and has been expanded with new biomes several times through free updates since the Early Access launch.

What happens if my credit runs out?

The server stops. Your world remains. After topping up, it continues.

Can I change the server name?

Yes, at any time in the web interface in the settings.

There is no official mod support yet (as of July 2026). The community has built the Enshrouded Mod Loader (EML), an unofficial tool that also works on dedicated servers — use at your own risk.

How do I save my progress?

We make automatic backups. You can restore them in the web interface.

Can friends play when I'm offline?

Yes, that is the advantage of a dedicated server. It continues to run even if you are not there.

Yes, Enshrouded now has built-in voice and text chat. In the server config you choose between Proximity (audible only nearby) and Global — or disable chat entirely.

You can create backups manually or set them up automatically (for a small fee) and restore them in the web interface at any time.
