Only if the three Space Age mods (space-age, quality, elevated-rails) are enabled on the server — then the game checks each player's DLC license on join. Disable them in the mod-list.json and everyone can join with the base game.

How do I install mods?

You can upload mods manually via SFTP to the 'mods' folder. Adjust the 'mod-list.json' accordingly or restart the server so it recognizes new mods. Players can download missing mods on join via 'Sync mods with server' directly from the Mod Portal.

What is UPS and why is it important?

UPS stands for 'Updates Per Second'. The game tries to calculate 60 updates per second. If your factory gets too big and the CPU can't keep up, the UPS drops, and the game runs in slow motion. Our servers are optimized for high UPS.

Can I upload my singleplayer savegame?

Yes, simply upload the `.zip` file of your save via SFTP to the 'saves' folder. Then you have to specify the name of the save in the panel or in the start parameters so the server loads it.

How much RAM do I need?

Factorio is surprisingly RAM efficient: for vanilla, 2-4 GB is enough (Engineer Starter or Automation Expert). Large maps and overhaul mods like Space Exploration need more — we recommend 8 GB or more for those.

Do you support Experimental versions?

Yes, you can choose between 'Stable' (currently 2.0.77) and 'Experimental' (the 2.1 branch) in the panel. A restart updates the server to the selected version.

How do I become admin?

You can make yourself admin via the console or create a `server-adminlist.json` file and enter your player name there. As admin, you have access to console commands in the game.

Does the server pause when no one is there?

Yes, that is the default setting in Factorio. The game pauses when the last player leaves. This saves CPU load, but the server technically continues to run (and incurs costs). To save money, you must stop the server in the panel.

Can I play Space Exploration?

Yes — Space Exploration runs on Factorio 2.1 since version 0.7.60. Since the mod is very extensive, we recommend a package with more RAM and CPU power (8 GB+) to play smoothly even in the late game.

How do I update the server?

Simply restart the server in the panel. Our system checks for updates at startup and installs them automatically.

Is there a whitelist?

Yes, you can activate the whitelist in the `server-settings.json` and add players via the console (`/whitelist add PlayerName`).

Where can I find the logs?

Can I change the map generation settings?

The map settings are determined when creating the map. If you want a new map with special settings (e.g., Rail World), it is best to create it locally in singleplayer and then upload it.

What happens if my credit runs out?

The server is stopped. Your factory (savegame) remains safely stored. After topping up, you can continue immediately.
