RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server Hosting

The official dedicated server build currently supports up to 6 simultaneous players. In-game peer-to-peer sessions are limited to 4 players - a dedicated server at RespawnHost raises this limit to 6.

Jagex recommends 2 GB baseline plus 1 GB per player. That adds up to 8 GB for a full 6-player group. We recommend the Wanderer Party package (8 GB) for most groups. More RAM does not raise the player limit in Dragonwilds right now, but it helps with larger bases and backups.

Yes. That is the core advantage over the peer-to-peer variant in the game. The server stays online as long as your credit lasts. You can stop it from the web interface at any time to save.

The entry package (4 GB RAM) is 10.00 € per month running 24/7, roughly 0.0139 € per hour. The Wanderer Party package (8 GB RAM) is 19.61 € per month 24/7. Since we bill per second, you only pay for actual uptime.

Yes, every player needs the Early Access game on Steam (29.99 USD / approx. 29.99 €). The server itself is a separate, free Steam download (App ID 4019830), which we install automatically for you.

Dragonwilds is currently Steam-exclusive on PC (Windows). The dedicated server runs on 64-bit Windows or Linux - you don't need to care which one we use, the experience is identical for you as the customer.

UDP 7777 by default. The port is opened automatically on our side, no router port forwarding needed.

Dragonwilds knows three roles: Owner (can ban/unban anyone), Admin (can ban online players) and regular players. You set the Owner ID and admin password in the web interface via DedicatedServer.ini.

Yes. Dragonwilds loads the most recent .sav file from the Saved/SaveGames folder on startup. You can upload your own savegames via SFTP and the server will use them on the next start.

As soon as Jagex ships a new build, our server auto-updates on the next restart. Important: client and server must be on the same version or the game refuses to connect.

Official mod support is not yet available in Early Access. Jagex has announced mod tools and support for the full release. Once available, we will of course support mods on our servers as well.

Yes. You can configure manual or automatic backups in the web interface. Especially recommended before large Early Access updates.

We operate locations in Germany and in the USA (Salt Lake City). You pick the location when creating the server.

No, RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a pure co-op survival game (PvE). The focus is on exploring, building and fighting the dragons together.

The in-game server browser lists your server using the name set in the config. You can run it publicly, privately (with password), or friends-only.

Dragonwilds is Early Access, so patches come in regularly. The dedicated server infrastructure has been officially stable since 0.11 (March 2026). Our hardware is built for fast updates.

Yes, any time. Changes to DedicatedServer.ini take effect on the next server restart. Per Jagex, changes made while the server runs are lost - at RespawnHost they are automatically persisted on restart.

The server stops automatically. Your world is preserved completely and will be ready to launch again right after the next top-up.

Yes. Your credit is not tied to Dragonwilds. You can stop the Dragonwilds server at any time and spin up a Valheim or Minecraft server instead.
