How many players are supported?

Soulmask officially supports up to 70 players simultaneously on a dedicated server. Smaller groups can run with fewer slots.

How much RAM do I need?

For 4-8 players, 8-12 GB is enough. For 16-32 players, we recommend 16-24 GB. For a full 70-player lobby with many tribesmen NPCs, 32-48 GB is the sweet spot.

Can I switch between PvP and PvE?

Yes. From the web interface you can configure the server mode between PvE, PvP, and mixed. Player-vs-tribe rules are also adjustable.

How do tribesmen NPCs work?

You recruit NPCs from the world, teach them trades (gatherer, farmer, warrior), and they work autonomously. On the server they persist even when nobody is online.

How demanding is the hardware?

Soulmask is CPU and RAM intensive, especially because of the tribesmen AI. That's why we run AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPUs – plenty of performance for fully populated worlds.

Where are the servers located?

We operate locations in Germany and in the USA (Salt Lake City). Choose your location when creating the server.

What hardware does RespawnHost use?

We exclusively use AMD Ryzen processors – in Germany, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPUs with a 10 Gbit/s uplink. Storage runs on NVMe SSDs.

How fast is my server online?

The server itself comes online in under 90 seconds. Installing the Soulmask game files takes another 1-3 minutes depending on location.

How does DDoS protection work?

In Germany we use PletX DDoS protection (known for huge capacity), in the USA Path. Protection is always on and included at no extra cost.

Can I migrate my singleplayer save?

Yes, you can upload your local world (savegame) via SFTP. Character and tribesmen data come along.

We create automatic backups. You can also create manual snapshots and restore any backup with one click from the web interface.

What happens if my credit runs out?

The server stops automatically. World, fortresses, tribe, and tribesmen data remain intact. After topping up, everything continues right where you left off.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. There is no contract and no minimum term at RespawnHost. You top up credit and use it whenever you want.

How are updates installed?

Restart the server – our system fetches the update from Steam automatically and installs it before booting.

Do I have SFTP access?

Yes, full SFTP access to all server files, including GameUserSettings.ini, world saves, and logs.

Can I use admin commands?

Yes. Admin rights are granted from the web interface; in-game commands cover weather, spawns, and server management.

How do I change the server name or password?

At any time via the web interface. Changes apply after a restart.

Are scheduled restarts supported?

Yes. You can configure scheduled restarts (daily, weekly) from the web interface – important for long Soulmask sessions because of memory cleanup.

Can I tweak server settings (loot, XP, day/night)?

Yes. Loot rates, experience points, day/night cycle, difficulty, and much more can be freely configured in GameUserSettings.ini.
