How do I install mods?

Create a folder named `Mods` in the main directory of the server and upload the mod files there. A restart activates them.

How do I generate an RWG world?

In `serverconfig.xml`, set `GameWorld` to `RWG` and adjust `WorldGenSize` and `GameName`. The world is generated on the first start (takes a while!).

How do I become admin?

You must enter your SteamID64 in the `serveradmin.xml` file (Level 0 for full rights). Then you can use commands in the console.

How much RAM do I need?

For Navezgane, 6 GB is enough. For RWG maps (8k+) or overhaul mods, we strongly recommend 10 GB or more, as world generation and loading require a lot of memory.

Currently, crossplay between PC (Steam) and consoles (PS5/Xbox Series) is possible but must be activated in the config (`Crossplay` setting).

How do I change the difficulty?

In `serverconfig.xml` you can set `GameDifficulty` (0-5). Zombie speed and damage can also be adjusted there.

Is there Telnet/RCON?

Yes, you can activate Telnet to use tools like '7D2D RAT' (Remote Admin Tool).

Restart the server. Our system installs the update. Attention: Major updates (e.g., Alpha 20 to 21) often require a map wipe!

Can I change the horde night?

Yes, you can set how often the Blood Moon comes (`BloodMoonFrequency`) and how many days it may vary (`BloodMoonRange`).

Where can I find the savegames?

The savegames are usually located under `.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves` or a configured path. You have full SFTP access to them.

What is 'Land Claim'?

The Land Claim Block protects your base from other players (in PvP) and prevents zombie spawns nearby. The size and durability are adjustable.

Yes, you can set `PlayerKillingMode` to 0 so players cannot hurt each other.

How many zombies spawn?

You can set `MaxSpawnedZombies` and `BloodMoonEnemyCount` (zombies per player during Blood Moon).

Is there a map preview?

You can generate the world locally and view the preview, or use tools to visualize the generated map on the server.

Do you support Darkness Falls?

Yes, overhaul mods like Darkness Falls run, but often require manual installation and more RAM.

How do I ban players?

Via console command `ban add [Name/SteamID] [Duration] [Reason]` or via `serveradmin.xml`.

Is the server online 24/7?

Yes, as long as you don't stop it (and have credit), it runs continuously.

Yes, the frequency of airdrops (`AirDropFrequency`) and whether they are marked on the map is configurable.

What happens in case of a server crash?
