Which ports does a StarRupture server use?

Why don't I see a world after starting the server?

A freshly started StarRupture server idles until a session exists: connect in-game, open "Manage Server", and start or load a session there. After that, all players can join at any time.

Is the world persistent?

Yes, your world and base progress are saved automatically. You can continue right where you left off.

Yes, since January 6, 2026. The first major update landed on April 9, 2026, and Creepy Jar is targeting version 1.0 for the second half of 2027. Our system installs updates automatically.

StarRupture Dedicated Server: Ports, DSSettings.txt & Session Start

The StarRupture dedicated server (its own Steam app, 3809400) uses two UDP ports: 7777 for game traffic and 27015 as query port. It's configured through launch parameters and DSSettings.txt, which is auto-generated under Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ on first start.

At RespawnHost this is all preconfigured: order the server, create a session, start playing. If needed, you edit DSSettings.txt directly in the web interface's config editor.
