How many players can join the server?

The Bus has no officially documented slot limit – the player count depends on server performance. At RespawnHost we don't cap slots; for larger driver groups we recommend 8 GB RAM or more.

Which lines are drivable?

The full release of The Bus includes 9 original Berlin lines: TXL, 100, N100, 123, 142, 147, 200, 245, and 300. Community lines keep arriving via the Steam Workshop.

Is The Bus still Early Access?

No. Since March 26, 2026, The Bus is available as a full release for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Multiplayer and modding, however, are PC-only.

Does multiplayer work on PS5 or Xbox?

No, the multiplayer mode is exclusive to the PC version. On consoles you can only drive solo – for running a bus company together you need the Steam version.

How do I join the server?

On startup your server generates a unique GUID. Enter it in-game under "Add server" – and you're connected.

Can we see each other?

Yes, you see the buses of other players and can even get out and walk freely through Berlin.

Berlin is memory-hungry – the game itself requires at least 8 GB. For the server, 4–6 GB is enough for small groups; at full AI density we recommend 8 GB or more.

Yes. The Bus has the roles owner, admin, moderator, and user. You assign rights via the chat command owner ; the admin menu opens from the pause menu.

How do I update the server?

The latest update is installed automatically as soon as you start the server.

Where are the servers located?

Choose between Germany (EU), Salt Lake City, UT (US West), Charlotte, NC (US East), and Noida (India). Compare locations with the ping test and consider where your fellow players are based.

Can I use a controller or steering wheel?

Yes, input devices are client-side – steering wheels and controllers work in multiplayer too.

What happens with lag?

Our servers run on powerful Ryzen hardware, but Berlin is demanding. Reduce AI density if needed or switch to a bigger package.

A The Bus server is a dedicated multiplayer server for the bus simulation The Bus by TML-Studios, letting you and your friends drive city buses together through a faithful 1:1 recreation of Berlin. The dedicated server runs as a standalone application (Steam app ID 507320) independently of your PC: players connect via a server GUID, and AI traffic, traffic lights, and passengers stay in sync for everyone. Since the full release on March 26, 2026, multiplayer is a core part of the PC version – there is no multiplayer on PS5 or Xbox.
