Can I play DayZ Badlands with the Nasdara map on my server?

Badlands launches on October 15, 2026. Once Bohemia has published the mission files for Nasdara, you set the map in the serverDZ.cfg just like the other official maps. For Frostline, the files arrived on release day. Bohemia has not yet said whether players need to own the DLC to join Nasdara servers.

What ports does a DayZ server use?

By default, UDP 2302 (game port for direct connect in the launcher) and 2303 (Steam query port for the server browser). Important: enter query port 2303 in the Steam server browser, and game port 2302 for direct connect. At RespawnHost, both ports are opened automatically.

Do I get a fixed address for my server?

Yes, every DayZ server comes with a free subdomain like yourname.respawnserver.com. Instead of a raw IP, you simply share my-clan.respawnserver.com:2302 with your players - memorable and instantly active.

How do I become admin?

DayZ does not have a classic admin system. We recommend installing admin tools like 'VPPAdmin Tools' or 'ZomBerry Admin Tools' via the Workshop. These allow you to register as an admin via Steam64ID and use an in-game menu.

How do I edit the loot (types.xml)?

You have full access to the folder 'mpmissions/dayzOffline.chernarusplus/db' (or similar) via SFTP or file manager. There you can edit the `types.xml` to adjust loot rates. Attention: Syntax errors lead to no loot spawning!

How much RAM do I need?

For a vanilla server with up to 10 players, 6 GB RAM is often sufficient. However, if you use many mods (Expansion, cars, weapons) or have more players, we strongly recommend 8 GB or 10 GB RAM to avoid performance problems.

Do you support DayZ Expansion?

Yes, DayZ Expansion is a very popular but large mod. Our servers have enough power for it. Make sure to book enough RAM, as Expansion is very resource-hungry.

How do I set up automatic restarts?

In our panel, you can create schedules. There you can specify that the server restarts e.g. every 4 hours. This is important for performance and loot respawn.

Can I protect my server with a password?

Yes, in the `serverDZ.cfg` you can set a password so only players with the password can join.

Where can I find the server logs?

The logs are located in the 'profiles' folder or in the main directory under 'logs'. They are important for analyzing crashes or mod errors.

What is the Central Economy (CE)?

The CE controls the spawn of items, zombies, animals, and vehicles. It is configured via XML files. We offer you full access to it.

Can I turn off persistence?

Persistence controls whether tents, bases, and vehicles are stored permanently - which is what almost every server wants. Instead of disabling it, most admins run regular wipes (deleting the storage folder). For finer control over individual object lifetimes, use the Central Economy (types.xml).

How do I perform a wipe?

To perform a wipe, simply delete the 'storage' folder in your mission (e.g., `mpmissions/dayzOffline.chernarusplus/storage_1`). A new database will be created at the next start.

Are DLCs like Livonia included?

The server files support Livonia, but players must have bought the DLC on Steam to be able to join. You as server admin do not have to buy anything extra.

Do you offer DDoS protection?

Yes, our DDoS protection filters harmful traffic so your server remains accessible even during attacks.

Can I set the day/night time?

Yes, in the `serverDZ.cfg` you can set the time acceleration for day and night separately (e.g., short day, long night or vice versa).

What is the 'profiles' folder?

Can I activate a whitelist?

Yes, you can activate a whitelist in the `serverDZ.cfg` and enter the player IDs in the corresponding file. Alternatively, admin tools often offer more comfortable whitelist functions.

How do I update the server?

Our system checks for updates at startup. A simple restart is enough to update server and mods.

Can I deactivate crosshair or 3rd person?

Yes, these are standard settings in the `serverDZ.cfg`. You can set the server to 'Hardcore' (only 1st person, no crosshair).

Where are the servers located?

Choose between Germany (EU), Salt Lake City, UT (US West), Charlotte, NC (US East), and Noida (India). Compare locations with the ping test and consider where your fellow players are based.

You can create manual backups in the panel at any time or set up automatic backup schedules. Important for DayZ: besides the mission (storage folder with bases and vehicles), also back up the profiles folder, where many mods store their configs.
