How many players are supported?

5v5 competitive (10 players) fits into our smaller packages. Community servers support up to 64 slots – depending on the mode (surf, jailbreak, DM, retake) you pick more RAM.

How much RAM do I need?

For 5v5 competitive, 4-8 GB is enough. For 10-16 slot community 12-16 GB. For full 32-64 slot modes (surf, KZ, jailbreak) we recommend 24-32 GB.

Do you support SourceMod and MetaMod?

Yes, both work out of the box. All common plugins (retake, practice, stats, admin tools) can be installed directly.

How do I install Workshop maps?

Through the web interface with a 1-click installer. Enter the Workshop ID and the server loads the map automatically on next start.

What about tick rate?

CS2 uses the new sub-tick system instead of the classic tick rate. Our AMD Ryzen 9 9950X servers deliver the compute headroom for clean sub-tick calculations.

Where are the servers located?

We operate locations in Germany and in the USA (Salt Lake City). Choose your location when creating the server.

What hardware does RespawnHost use?

We exclusively use AMD Ryzen processors – in Germany, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPUs with a 10 Gbit/s uplink. Storage runs on NVMe SSDs.

How fast is my server online?

The server itself comes online in under 90 seconds. Installing the CS2 game files takes another 1-3 minutes depending on location.

How does DDoS protection work?

In Germany we use PletX DDoS protection (known for huge capacity), in the USA Path. Protection is always on and included at no extra cost.

Can I upload my own cfg files?

Yes. Full SFTP access gives you direct reach to server.cfg, autoexec.cfg, match configs, and every plugin config.

Do match plugins like Get5 or PugSetup work?

Yes, every popular 5v5 match tool (Get5, MatchZy, PugSetup) runs on our servers.

Do I need a Game Server Login Token (GSLT)?

For public servers that should appear in the server list, yes. You can create the GSLT for free on Steam and paste it into the web interface.

We create automatic backups. You can also create manual snapshots and restore any backup with one click from the web interface.

What happens if my credit runs out?

The server stops automatically. Configs, maps, and plugins are preserved. After topping up, everything continues right where you left off.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. There is no contract and no minimum term at RespawnHost. You top up credit and use it whenever you want.

How are updates installed?

Restart the server – our system fetches the update from Steam automatically and installs it before booting.

Which game modes are supported?

All of them: Competitive, Wingman, Casual, Deathmatch, Arms Race, Surf, KZ, Jailbreak, Retake, 1v1 arena, and more. Configurable via plugins or workshop maps.

Can I use admin commands?

Yes. Admin rights are granted through SourceMod or server.cfg. Full RCON access included.
