Gamepires shipped a second hotfix in two days. Fishing in the radioactive zone was paying far better than it should.

Gamepires released hotfix 1.3.4.2.161892 for SCUM on 8 October, one day after hotfix 1.3.4.1. The reason is a fishing bug in the radioactive zone: processing Radioactive Carp produced far too much Depleted Uranium, which let players earn much more money than intended.

Some players “had a very profitable night fishing in the radioactive zone”, Gamepires wrote in its Steam post. Because the bug hit the in-game economy, the studio chose to fix it straight away instead of waiting for the next update. “We know another download so soon after yesterday’s hotfix is disruptive,” the post reads.

The carp were not the only fishing problem. A fishing spot in the radioactive zone stayed active at all times, and catfish could only be caught in lakes, not rivers. Fishing rods also drifted away from the mouse cursor when dragged on the ground or out of the inventory. All three are fixed.

One known issue is still open. Pulling a fish ashore while walking backwards can snap the line, so Gamepires suggests you stop doing that until a fix lands.

The rest of the patch notes cover gameplay, wildlife, clothing and UI:

If you run a server, the fix only applies once it is on 1.3.4.2. Until then, players can likely keep farming uranium. The patch notes say nothing about rolling back money already earned through the bug. If your server economy took a hit overnight, any cleanup is up to you.

Gamepires asks players to report anything else through the Bug Reports forum on Steam or official SCUM support.
