Enshrouded 1.0 keeps your Early Access saves, but crossplay will have to wait
Keen Games answers the launch questions. Old worlds get converted, Early Access buyers don't pay twice, and veterans get a very large statue.

Keen Games published a launch FAQ for Enshrouded on Steam on 13 October, two days before version 1.0 leaves Early Access. A world map of start times in the post puts the release at 15:00 UTC on Thursday, 15 October, which is 17:00 CEST and 08:00 PDT.
The question most long-time players will care about is their saves. Early Access worlds carry over to 1.0, but the save format is changing, so the game converts them to what Keen Games calls a new, more efficient format. The studio still suggests a clean start. It has reworked the world and the first few hours of the game, and the FAQ says it strongly encourages players to start over if they are up for it.
If you bought Enshrouded on PC during Early Access, you do not need to buy it again. Crossplay is not part of the launch. Keen Games says it is working on cross-platform play but has no estimate for when it will be ready.
Early Access players also get three exclusive decorative props, redeemable from the “Redeem Add-Ons” button in the escape menu. One is a statue more than four metres tall, another a tome bearing the “E” that served as the Early Access logo for over two years. Newcomers can ask a veteran to place the props in their world. They can remove them afterwards but not place them themselves, and since the props can be claimed multiple times, sharing costs nothing. Twitch drops, the studio adds, are all obtainable in the game as well.
For anyone running a dedicated server, the conversion applies to the server’s world too. Back it up before updating so you keep a copy in the old format. If you want to follow Keen Games’ advice and start fresh, point the server at a new world after the update.
The FAQ says nothing about player limits or server settings. The full changelog is due on 14 October, a day ahead of release, alongside a trailer, with a highlights video following on launch day.
