Gamepires has patched the October update. Faster fishing through a shortcut is over, and the green waders are now free for everyone.

Gamepires released hotfix 1.3.4.1.161318 for SCUM on 7 October, two days after the October update that closed out the Into the Wild season. The headline fix deals with performance: changing the field of view, including when aiming down sights, could cause noticeable hitches and frame rate drops.
Fishing, reworked in the October update, gets the longest list of fixes. An exploit let players skip much of the fishing minigame and land fish faster than intended, and that is now closed. Reels could also miss mouse wheel input at higher frame rates, and lines could be cast through buildings. Accessories could even be fitted to a rod with no reel, which left you unable to fish at all.
The Corn Fish Bait recipe used to produce the same amount of bait no matter how much was left in the can of corn. That is fixed too.
There was also a mix-up with the Specialist Angler Pack. It shipped with the green waders instead of the yellow ones shown in the pack images. Gamepires has swapped them, so the pack now contains the yellow version and the green waders are available to all players. “Sorry for the mix-up,” the studio wrote.
Two fixes matter for anyone running a server. Abandoned Bunker timers and the number of active bunkers could be restored incorrectly after a server restart, which should no longer happen. And players could earn Survival skill XP in Safe Zones even with “Allow Skill Gain in Safe Zones” disabled. If you turned that option off, it now applies to Survival as well.
Among the smaller fixes, unfinished base blueprints no longer interrupt jumps and make players fall. The Hands slot in the cooking interface no longer disappears and hides heatless recipes until the next login. Voice chat now shows in-game names instead of Steam names, and squad emblems stay put after a rename.
One fishing bug remains. Pulling a fish ashore while walking backwards can still snap the line. Gamepires is working on a fix and suggests not walking backwards while you reel in your catch.
