Creepy Jar released hotfix 0.3.5 for StarRupture on 5 October. It is the latest patch for Update 2 and focuses on stability and the building system, which Update 2 shook up by reworking how pillars work.

That rework is also why older saves need patience. On the first load, every pillar in a world gets replaced with a new one. According to the patch notes, big saves from version 0.3.3 or earlier can take around 5 to 10 minutes to load. Hardware and the size of your base decide where in that range you land. The hotfix improves loading speed for those saves, and Creepy Jar says it is working on making the process faster in future updates.

Once a save has been stored on 0.3.4 or 0.3.5, load times go back to normal. If you run a dedicated server with a large world from before Update 2, give the first start after updating some extra time rather than restarting it halfway through.

Most of the fixes deal with platforms, pillars and stability maths. A few highlights from the patch notes:

Memory management has also been improved, which should help overall stability.

Multiplayer gets its own set of fixes. Previously, when a client deconstructed a building, other players could still place buildings on its vanished foundations, and clients could extend support pillars below the terrain. On dedicated servers, Habitat interiors stayed visible after the Habitat was deconstructed with foundations excluded. All of these are fixed in 0.3.5.

StarRupture remains in Early Access. Creepy Jar says it is working on more fixes alongside new content and asks players to send bug reports through its support page.
