Funcom released The Legacy of the Giant-Kings: Part Two for Conan Exiles on 6 October. It is the second chapter of a four-part story arc and follows on from the events around Akhamet and the Cyclopean Halls, which left tears across the Exiled Lands.
Those tears are the Rifts. You will find them in enemy camps on both the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah. Step through one and you pick a challenge in an otherworldly arena, fight whatever is waiting there and return with new materials and rewards. Funcom’s Steam post puts the trade-off simply: the greater the danger, the greater the prize.
Rift materials unlock four new Sorcery spells. One is a defensive ward, one controls the battlefield with Void power, one spreads corruption among enemies and one readies your magic for faster casting. You can also upgrade your tome.
The Mi-Go are back too. The otherworldly creatures come through the Rifts with a Mi-Go mini boss and themed rewards attached. According to Funcom, you may even be able to take a Mi-Go home as a thrall or pet.
A new Shemite building set is also coming to the Conan Exiles Enhanced Bazaar. Funcom says it draws on bowmen, traders and the smiths of Akbitana, mixing Old Stygian influences with eastern nomadic design.
If you run your own dedicated server, it needs the update before your players can join again, since clients and servers have to be on the same version. The Rifts appear on both maps, so Exiled Lands and Siptah servers are equally affected. Taking a backup of the save before updating is a sensible habit.
Two chapters are still to come. Funcom has not given a date for Part Three yet.
